CAPE COAST CASTLE (BRITISH GOLD COAST, W. AFRICA). Fortified coaling station. Anchorage average 28 feet.
PORT STANLEY (FALKLAND IS.) Good deep harbour. Fortified coaling station.
ST. HELENA. Fortified coaling station. 10-fathom harbour.
SIERRA LEONE (W. AFRICA). Fortified coaling station. Anchorage, 6-16 fathoms.
SIMON'S BAY (CAPE of GOOD HOPE). Naval dockyard. Selborne Dock, 750 x 95 x 36 feet. (Dreadnought.) Tidal basin, 28 acres, 30 feet deep. Fortified moderately. Admiralty Chart No. 1849.
There is a dock at Capetown, 500 x 66 x 24½ feet, and a floating one at Durban, 425 x 70 x 23 feet.,
