PRINCESS MARGARET (built 1913-14, chartered and converted during War, purchased 1919). 5440 tons.

- Dimensions : 395.5 (o.a.) x 54 x 16' 10" (max. draught).
- Guns: 2 - 4.7 inch, 2 - 12 pdr., 2 - 6 pdr. AA., 1 - 2 pdr. pom-pom.
- S.H.P. 15,000 = 22.5 kts. (23.15 on trials). Oil fuel: 585 tons.
LONDON (Sept., 1899). Old Battleship of 15,000 tons, converted 1918.
- Complement, 481.
- Dimensions : 431.75 (o.a.) x 75 x 27.66 feet (max. draught).
- Guns: 3 - 6 inch, 1 - 4 inch AA., 2 M.G., 1 landing.
- Torpedo tubes (18 inch): 4 submerged.
- Armour : 9", 6" and 2" belt, 6" casemates, 3" deck. Old 10" - 8" turrets also left in, though 12 inch guns, shields, etc., are removed.
- I.H.P. 15,000 = 18 kts. Machinery: 2 sets 3-cylinder vertical triple expansion. 2 screws. Boilers : 20 Belleville. Coal: 2000 tons max.
AMPHITRITE (1898). Ex-Cruiser, converted 1917. 11,000 tons.
- Complement, 409.
- Dimensions : 466 (o.a.) x 69 x 27 feet (max. draught).
- Guns: 4 - 6 inch, 1 - 12 pdr. Armour: 4" deck, 6" casemates.
- Machinery: 2 sets 4-cylinder vertical inverted triple expansion. Boilers : 30 Belleville. I.H.P. 18,000 = 21 kts. 2 screws. Coal: 1730 tons.
EURYALUS (1901). (No photo available). Old Cruiser of 12,000 tons, partially converted to a Minelayer at Hong Kong D.Y., 1918-19, but now laid up in Reserve.
- Dimensions: 472 (o.a.) x 69.5 x 27.75 feet max. draught.
- Guns: 2 - 9.2 inch (probably removed), 2 - 6 inch, 2 - 6 pdr. AA., 2 - 3 pdr.
- Machinery : 2 sets vertical triple expansion. 2 screws. Boilers: Belleville. I.H.P. 21,000 = 21 kts. Coal: 1600 tons max.
Note: The 20th Destroyer Flotilla (Minelayers) consists of:
- Abdiel, Gabriel (Leaders),
- Vanoc, Vanquisher, Venturous (Admiralty " V " type),
- Tarpon, Telemachus (Admiralty " R " Class),
- Meteor ("M" Class), used for experiments.
Other =" V " and " W " Destroyers were fitted as Minelayers during the War.
Submarine Minelayers are units of " L " Classes (numbers not known), E 41, E 45, E 46, E 51, carrying about 20 mines.
C.M.B. also used as Minelayers during War. If necessity arise, warships of nearly all types can be quickly fitted out as Minelayers.
